A masterpiece of the Prai Industrial Estate’s double storey office block with an annexed single storey factory UP FOR GRAB!

Following a stronger-than-expected exports performance in 2018, the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) expects Malaysia’s exports value in 2019 to breach the RM1 trillion-mark for the first time. While the global trade outlook is weighed down by an economic slowdown and rising protectionism, Minister Darell Leiking projects the country’s exports to grow by about 5% this year, higher than the earlier forecast of 3.9% as mentioned in the Finance Ministry’s Economic Outlook 2019 (extracted from www.mida.gov.my).

Benefited from strong export value, the industrial sector in Seberang Prai (mainly Prai Industrial Estate) is building pace with several factory projects underway ― reflecting an active market in mainland Penang. Henry Butcher Malaysia’s SeberangPrai mid-year review stated that the volume of transactions had increased marginally by nearly three per cent, from 67 transactions in the first quarter of last year (Q1 2017), to 69 in the first quarter of this year (Q1 2018). But the total value of transactions surged 53.85 per cent year-on-year, from RM80.8 million to RM124.3 million. It seems that Prai Industrial Estate is fast becoming the Crown Jewel from foreign direct investment (FDI) with several announcement of companies investing millions in manufacturing business.

Prai Industrial Estate is the largest industrial estate in the northern region of peninsular Malaysia apart from the established Mak Mandin Industrial Estate and the Seberang Jaya Industrial Estate where are located nearby.
