Auction of Malaysian Banknotes with Special Serial Numbers series has been organized since year 2014.
It was the collectors’ great news when it first introduced back then with attractive starting prices. The source of the Banknotes are from Bank Negara, therefore it serves as a sound provenance.
The said auction series was organized averagely once or twice a year, with only a very limited number of banknotes being put up for public bidding. There were totally ten auction events so far and the last one was held in February 2020.
The Certificate of Authenticity was introduced during the second auction for star lot and it was in this auction that the highest sale record was achieved at RM76,000 at a single banknote of RM100, serial number AA8888888. The same record was sustained in the last auction on 10 March 2018, also for RM100 denomination.
It is interesting to see some statistics of hammer prices for each denomination ranging from the several categories of special serial numbers. As such, we have recently compiled some interesting information of our past seven auctions for sharing with our readers.
当马来西亚国家银行于2014年公布首届【马来西亚黄金号码拍卖】以来一直备受广大的钞票收藏家关注。此系列钞票不但从未在市面上发行过，还以极具吸引力的价钱起拍。除此之外，国行本身也具有高度的号召力。
【马来西亚黄金号码拍卖】每年平均举办一至两次，每届只有极少数的钞票被公开竞标。到目前为止总共举办了十场拍卖会，第十届于2020年2月29日举行。
真品证书是在第二次拍卖会上推出的，正是在此拍卖会中，钞票马币100（超级黄金号 AA8888888）创造了最高销售记录，以 马币76千落槌。 在2018年3月10日的第八届拍卖中也保持了相同的记录，同为面额马币100。
有趣的是，每种面额的落槌价都有一些统计数字，从特殊类别的编号到几类不等。 因此，我们最近整理了过去十届拍卖的一些有趣信息，以供读者参考。
