Rare Straits Chinese Peranakan Indigo Blue Chupu
罕有侨生华人靛蓝地小盖罐
Late Qing Dynasty, Guangxu
晚清光绪年
Indigo Blue is probably the rarest colour among the Nyonyaware repertoire and the featured Chupu is decorated with Straits Chinese preferred motifs of peonies and Buddhist symbols as such an exquisite piece for specialist collectors. Base mark “Guang Xu Nian Zhi” (光绪年制)
此精致绿地娘惹盖罐拥棕地开光和棕地顶盖沿边（通常是粉红色），属于罕有色地配色的娘惹盖罐，内绘凤凰飞翔于牡丹间，底款“周同顺昌”。

No hairlines or chips detected. Some slight enamel and glaze loss which commensurate with age and utilitarian usage. Potentially the cover is from another pair chupu.
