23 Aug Fine Chinese Painting Charity Auction 2020 浓墨重彩献爱心
Welcome back! The Fine Chinese Painting Charity Auction was originally scheduled on 18 March but was forced to call off due to the Movement Control Order (MCO). The auction date was actually fell on day one of the MCO. We are coming back after the tough five months of waiting. Regrettably, Joblink Centre, The Society in Aid to the Handicapped didn’t make it but forced to close down due to the unsustainable financial problem. We are equally helpless with the Centre’s trainee. Rotary Club of Penang was supposed to raise fund for Joblink Centre but unfortunately the timing has gone against us.
However, we do not stop here, we are always there for the community. Although it takes a long wait, veteran artist Ian Tan understand our situation and agreed for us to keep his fine Chinese ink paintings for community service purpose. For this upcoming auction, 40% of the proceed will be fully channelled to Penang Rotary Charity Foundation. The Foundation has been supporting our Club’s community services such as the dialysis centre and home nursing.
We don’t ask for donation, we merely encourage you to collect a fine painting while meaningful good deed is fulfilled. Not only Royal Art Gallery but you deserved a fine Chinese ink painting from the veteran artist Ian Tan.
久违了！浓墨重彩献爱心这场拍卖原本是在三月十八号隆重举办，却因为冠病管控期在同日执行而被逼取消。过了五个多月这场拍卖又再重整旗鼓了。非常遗憾的，这几个月的非常时期槟城扶轮社所设立的残疾人士援助协会Joblink工作坊也因善款减少和慈善拍卖取消的情况之下难以支撑而被逼关闭了，对于工作坊学员失去了他们的家我们也感到非常无助。但槟城扶轮社对于关注社会上不幸的一群并没有因此而停止下来，也难得的在资深画家陈龙秋持续的支持下我们得以重新保住他的佳作用作慈善拍卖用途。
40%拍卖的收入将全数捐献于槟城扶轮慈善基金会，此基金会的资金全数用于支持数家非盈利结构包括扶轮洗肾中心和家庭护理。我们并非要求普罗大众捐钱，我们只是希望社会人士在收藏精美水墨画的同时也做了一件非常有意义的事。资深画家陈龙秋的水墨画，除了皇家艺术馆之外，也绝对值得您收藏。
